MPI104

MPI104 has been an interesting subject thus far. We have learnt how to create a web presence and how to utilize it. We started this by creating a Gmail account (regardless of whether or not we had one already) for submitting our assignment and using it to create other accounts on pages such as delicious, flikr and blogger. I have enjoyed this subject so far as it has really helped me with my other subjects especially the VFX101 forum as we are frequently required to upload our work onto different topics. I was skeptical about creating a blogger account at first as I wasn’t entirely sure on how relevant this would be, however, towards the end I have started to like the idea of updating a blog whether it be just a random collection of thoughts or a themed blog. In my case it is a themed blog on presenting an easily accessible site to view (in my opinion) some of the best short films the animation industry has to offer. It is still early days and I am sure I will continue to add to it.
Flikr proved to be an invaluable resource. Although we have only been shown the fundamentals of what it can be used for, I still use it frequently not only in MPI104 but in my other subjects as well. It is interesting to look through all the images people have uploaded and you can easily find anything you are interested in.
Delicious, although I personally feel is a bit outdated, has also been quite useful in particular this subject. It has all the links and urls to web addresses I am both interested in and ones I need to pass my subjects. It is convenient to be able to quickly access other people’s blogs to check up on their progress.
I have so far made 10 posts on my Blogger* most being links to short films I feel need to be viewed by as many people as possible, have changed its aesthetic look to be more personal, I have posted on other people’s blogs*. In Delicious I have book marked 8 pages three of mine being of personal interest mainly due to their layout, how useful they can be or just how entertaining how entertaining*. On Flikr I have uploaded three images and a video of my completed and submitted walk cycle*, links to some of my favorite pictures and my Flikr stream will be provided below.

Overall, I have enjoyed this subject and thanks to my lecturer Matt B, am no longer as web illiterate as I used to be J
